Taxonomy:  No subspecies are recognized for Pantherophis guttatus (Crother et al. 2012). 

Distribution: The Red Cornsnake is well documented from counties in East Tennessee and the southern half of West Tennessee.  Except for the southern section of the Eastern Highland Rim, records are lacking for much of Middle Tennessee.
